Rhythm 2012

Rhythm

“Rhythm is an essential part of life and nature. It manifests itself in both subtle and dynamic ways. In the Rhythm series of works, a combination of painting and drawing is suspended in an ambiguous space with an allusive light filled surface somewhat devoid of substance—more like visible air. The working process is loose, free, direct, and attempts to leave a visual trail of its development through erasure, transparencies, vagueness, and varying levels of focus. Although there may be suggestions of recognizable things in the paintings, the overriding intent is more toward rhythmic image invention through the application process.”
